Visit a Theatre To See Many Events

A theatre is a place that is known for hosting events. These types of buildings have been around for many years. In fact, a lot of the ones that are still around have been around for years. They are often very historical and contain beautiful architecture from different time periods. They all have one thing in common which is that they have a stage. The stage is where the performances take place. Actors, singers and other types of performers take the stage to provide entertainment to the crowds. People visit these places for many types of events, and because they are so beautiful. If you are looking for something fun to do with your boyfriend, spouse or best friend, consider attending a concert or play. These are also great places to take children. You can learn about art, culture and music by attending a theatre near you.
Most of these have been renovated over the years. They have tried very hard to keep the buildings in their natural states, but certain things are often done over the years to keep them looking great. One of the greatest parts about theatres is the diversity. These places offer various shows and events all year round. Normally they are not open every day of the week, but when a show comes to town, it might run for several nights in a row. If it is really popular, they might offer it for several weeks. This gives people more opportunities to be able to see it. If a show is only offered for one night, there is a limit to how many people can attend. One common thing you will find in these buildings is plays. A play is a live performance by professional actors and actresses. They are hired to play a certain role or character. Plays are known for being exciting and colorful. Characters in plays often wear extravagant outfits and costume jewelry. This is one thing that people love about them. If plays aren't for you, there are other types of events that might interest you. You could consider listening to an orchestra or symphony play, or you might be more interested in seeing and hearing your favorite singer from the 1970s. Every theatre is different, and the acts are constantly changing. The nice part is that if you keep watching, you will find the types of performances that you enjoy seeing.
You can learn about upcoming events by finding a theatre near you. You can look up the company's website and find their calendar. This is a great way to plan exciting things for your life, and your loved ones will be excited when you tell them about the events you are taking them to see. You can always consider buying tickets for your friends or relatives to give them as gifts. These are ideal for this purpose because everyone loves going somewhere fun. You can open up your mind by learning and seeing new things, and this is a great way to accomplish that.

Love Scribes

You feed your body and you need to also feed your mind with positive emotions that nourish your spirit. One of the easiest and most effective tools to influence positive feelings is keep a daily Love Scribe journal. It has one purpose only and that is to be a positive influence in your day to day living and help remind you of your blessings.
At the end of every day, take a few minutes alone to recall one thing that happened that day to make you smile. Write it in your journal. And then reverse the question by recalling one thing you did to make someone smile.
When you wake up the next day, remember to take out your journal and read it to yourself. Reflect on your notes and experiences again and feel its power to affect you positively. Spend a moment in gratitude that you are living in freedom and blessed to be alive. Linger in the reflection of gratitude, give it two minutes of your time and recall the reasons you are grateful, not simply words but feelings because one day it will all be gone and you with it so the time for thanks is now.
Gratitude will align your day on a high note. Make this your time to meditate on all you have. Carve a few minutes out for yourself to reflect on the good things in your life. Read your scribes because your words mirror memories and reflect the many faces, places and opportunities to love and be loved.
Some entries from my past journals:
My dog, Brutus, licked my face and woke me up this morning.
A teenager gave me his seat coming home on the hot subway, a small kindness that meant a lot. He smiled.
My niece called just to say hi and ask about my day.
My family picture sitting on my desk at work.
Sent flowers to Mom for no reason except to brighten her day, which it did.
I walked during my lunch and smiled at strangers passing by. I forget to smile and it feels good when I do.
I stopped at church before going to work to give thanks for all I have.
Tom held my hand when I sat beside him after dinner and said "I love you."
What thoughts make you happy? What thoughts make you smile? Who/what brightens your day? How do you, can you brighten another person's day?
Write those special endearing words spoken by another on an index card and carry it with you, no kidding. Keep it on your person and let it love you as often as you need every day. I cherish a note from my sister in law, Carol, straight from her heart into mine about why she loves and cares about me. I never tire reading it.
Write those expressions of love on the reverse side of photographs and carry them with you, or download with captions onto your i-phone and in your p.c. Talk about game changers...try staying in a bad mood after reading "I love You" on the back of that special someone's photo. Allow yourself to love and be loved! I'm getting all fuzzy just thinking about it.
Love comes in so many forms and in so many ways that it's easy to overlook and yet it's the real treasure of each day. Make it your habit to capture and remember some love every day. Focus on the love, the kindness, the goodness of each day and I promise you a peaceful heart will follow.
My best to you.

Why People Don't Listen To Your Music ?

Promoting anything is a tricky endeavor, especially with music. Social media has allowed people to ditch the traditional means of promotion: touring, radio plays, and so on. I am certainly not an expert in this field, but my advice comes from the perspective of someone that creates and listens/consumes music.
Although these six things listed could be applicable to anything I was writing it with Twitter and music in mind.
As a consumer I feel this drives me away from your product:
1. Spamming your songs
There is a way to do this correctly. By using powerful apps. such as Hootsuite, you can spread your tweets throughout the day to cover all time zones. I think it's important people tweet about what they do, but if all I see in my time line is the same thing over and over reworded with a bunch of!!!! every 10 minutes... I'm not going to be inclined to click the link.
2. Asking people to directly promote you
When I see people asking(more like begging) people to #RT or RT to help them promote their EP, single, (or rarely) their album, I instantly look away. Nobody likes to have someone force them to do something especially if you're not offering any service in return.
3. Saying you're the best
Let's face the truth. You're probably not. If you were the best people would be writing about how amazing you are and endorsing you. Your goal should not be to "get famous." It's an extremely broad term and may not have all the rewards you think it has.Yes, there are people that are hidden in the world that have superior, amazing, raw, beautiful talent/technique/abilities...but telling me you're music is beautiful or the best means to me you have a lot of work to do on yourself. I believe the listener should decide for themselves what it is, not you. Humbleness and modesty mean a lot to me in the music industry. If you're a modest and humble musician I like you automatically
4. If I see the word EP I don't care for you
Okay, I'll probably get a lot of heat for this one, but I don't like EPs. Singles are completely different. Singles give me the taste of either what is to come or who you are and then makes me inclined to listen to your album, not just another 3 or 4 tracks. The EP was originally created to send out as demos to prospective producers or record labels so you can make an LP or what have you. Today people use it a lazy an excuse for an album. I say go all the way! When I see people make EPs and try and push them it means that they either are desperate, want attention, or lack content for a full length album. I understand a lot of people don't have the time to make a full album, but waiting is a virtue. An album to me is an experience and adventure. An EP is like the brochure that tells you about the adventure, but you don't actually get to go on it.
5. Interact with other musicians
Network. Network. Network. I can't stress this enough. You may not realize it, but when you tweet that you like a song, link it, and give credit to that person- I know it means the world to them. People generally return the favor. Do this more...especially if they are good, you've worked with them and they are reliable, and/or you think they have a lot of potential. Not only will you interact and connect with people and find new, awesome, and cool music, but you'll also without having to try promote yourself!
6. Listen and don't ignore feedback
I'm probably one of the few people that don't mind negative feedback. I want the criticism. If you can't handle it, then you're not ready. Obviously people have different tastes and may say it sucks because it's not what their ear prefers, but take the critiques from people you know and respect seriously and use it constructively to improve your work.
I welcome comments or additions to this post. I obviously am only one person and this is just what I gather.

Movie Review:: The Cabin in the Woods (2012)

A Very Loving Hate Letter to Horror
"I love being scared." So said Joss Whedon in an interview with Total Film regarding The Cabin in the Woods, which he produced and co-wrote with director Drew Goddard. "The things that I don't like are kids acting like idiots, the devolution of the horror movie into torture porn and into a long series of sadistic comeuppances. Drew and I both felt that the pendulum had sung a little too far in that direction." When I first read that quote a few weeks ago, I wished Whedon had been there with me, for I wanted to shake him by the hand and thank him for publicly reaffirming what I've felt about horror movies for quite some time. But then I actually saw The Cabin in the Woods, and I couldn't help but wonder why I wasn't seeing things as he saw them. Something wasn't quite right.
The film, promoted by Whedon himself as a "very loving hate letter" and "a serious critique of what we love and what we don't about horror movies," is nowhere near as clever or insightful as it has been made to seem. Whedon and Goddard clearly have fun with a number of threadbare horror clichés, but never once do they actually say anything relevant about them. All these men really do is confirm that they exist, which is shortsighted considering the fact that most horror audiences are already well aware of this. They think they're letting us in on the joke when in fact we were in on it all along. What I was promised was satire; what I got was a confusing, ridiculous, and surprisingly depressing film in which archetypes and conventions are addressed but barely improved.
Central to the story are five college kids who were clearly intended to be one-dimensional caricatures. But pointing out their shallowness and actually commenting on it are two entirely different matters, and frankly, I would have preferred the filmmakers to go in the latter direction. There's Dana, the reluctant virgin (Kristen Connolly). There's her best friend, Jules, the perpetually horny sexpot (Anna Hutchison), who just dyed her hair blonde; although she can't pronounce one of the words on Dana's math book, it's declared that she's premed. There's Jules' boyfriend, Curt, the hunky jock (Chris Hemsworth). There's Holden, the scholarly gentleman (Jesse Williams), who will inevitably fall for Dana. Finally, there's Marty, the goofy pothead (Fran Kranz), who sounds like he knows more than he initially lets on.
They leave campus and take an RV to a remote part of the woods, where they vacation in a strangely decorated and certifiably creepy cabin. Little do they know that beneath the cabin lies a subterranean office superstructure, where a bureaucratic team of workers in suits, ties, and lab coats watch their every move via surveillance cameras. Two scientists, Hadley (Richard Jenkins) and Sitterson (Bradley Whitford), use a force field to seal the college kids into the wooded area and subject them to a scenario of their own design. They manipulate the circumstances as much as possible, mostly by the release of airborne chemicals that can change a person's ability to think. They eventually open the cellar, where, amidst an eclectic mix of creepy Victorian paraphernalia, Dana finds an old diary. Upon reading a Latin incantation, zombies emerge from the ground and descend on the cabin.
At this point, I'm going to stop describing the plot in detail, as there are numerous twists and turns that most will not want spoiled. I will say that the film is intended to be both frightening and funny, and to an extent, it succeeds at both. In the humor department, we have more than the antics of the college kids; we have the working environment of the subterranean office. Just as it would be in an urban skyrise, we see division of labor and the formation of cliques. We see money pools and office partying, and there's even enough time to work in the playful ribbing of the nerdy intern. When they're not working, the scientists will gab about their personal lives; in the opening scene, Sitterson spends a great deal of time complain about his wife and her new cabinets.
There's an extremely bloody confrontation involving every imaginable monster from the annals of horror, from wispy spirits to werewolves to giant cobras to robotic slicing machines to zombies to carnivorous mermen. All leads to a Lovecraftian ending that was not only lame-brained and inappropriate but also needlessly upsetting. Was that the point of The Cabin in the Woods? To espouse a nihilistic viewpoint of humanity? If this is Whedon's idea of sticking it to the makers of slasher films and gore fests, he might want to steer clear of the horror genre altogether. I hate to think that there are other genres he feels have been corrupted. If he were to write another very loving hate letter, say for a romantic comedy or a musical, would it too end in the same way?
Although Chris never officially studied film, film theory, or even journalism in college, his Bachelors and Masters degrees in Creative Writing has taught him to appreciate story, character, and the imagination - all aspects that apply to the movies, and if there's anything his years of living in Los Angeles has guaranteed him, exposure to movies would be at the top of the list. He has always appreciated the art of filmmaking, but it wasn't until 2006 that he began writing reviews on various websites for new releases. Still residing in L.A., his reviews can be read at his website.http://www.atatheaternearyou.net

I Want to Become More Funny

We are all funny in a way - some are just born with this talent, and being witty and entertaining comes perfectly naturally to them. As opposed to this, there are also people who don't always succeed in making their interlocutors smile. They try, and try, and on their way to eliciting a smile, they have to go through all those awkward moments when no one is amused by their jokes, and face that terrible silence when people don't respond to what should have been a funny story.
Stop Forcing Your Funny Side to Appear
There are a lot of people who want to enhance their ability to make other people laugh, and one of the best advices they'll ever get is this - stop worrying about whether you'll be funny to other people. This is one of the most important things to remember on your way to becoming hilariously funny and amusing. If you worry about whether people will laugh at what you have just said, the chances are they won't laugh. The reason: your face will show that you are over-thinking it. No, with a face that lets everyone see you might be concerned about something, you are not creating a pleasant atmosphere. Let me ask you this, would you laugh at something if a person who said it looked worried even it were funny?
Your Funny Side Is There
You need to note that every one of us is funny in their own way. Maybe you will not be a stand-up comedian one day, but you will definitely make someone laugh, intentionally or not. Have you noticed how people who don't want to be comic are actually quite amusing to people around them? So, stop trying too hard to find your witty side, and it will appear when you expect it the least.
I Want to Be Funny? Which is The Easiest Way to Make People Laugh?
There are many types of humor, and you can try out these different styles, and find the one that suits your personality. You can tell jokes, use sarcasm or irony in order to make someone smile; you can turn to physical humor, make jokes at your own expense or do nothing about it. The sky is the limit! However, keep in mind that you should work on your funny side only in the way that you are comfortable. For an instance, if you are not good at telling jokes, don't tell them. Instead, choose another option to help you become funnier.
Different People Laugh At Different Types Humor
Surely it has happened to you that you've told a joke to your friend, and you both laughed so hard your stomach started to hurt, but when you told your partner the same thing he looked at you and said plainly: "What's so funny about that?" How can he or she be not amused by the joke that made your friend laugh? Well, if you want to be really funny you need to know that people respond differently to different jokes. Therefore, try to meet your audience before you start your act you prepared in advanced. You need to know that your audience is as important as a great joke or a funny line.
In conclusion, making fun of people in order to be funny or telling jokes that will insult your listeners is not the best way to become funnier. You should know that humor is a relative thing, but try to be polite and tasteful.

Suggestion:The Best Medical TV Shows

To be sure, there are some excellent television shows about the medical world, and there are some not so good shows as well. In my opinion, the shows listed in this article are some of the best medical shows to air, but that does not mean there are not others. It just means I have never watched them. So here they are, in no particular order: the best medical TV shows in my opinion.
Doogie Howser, M.D.
Anyone who did not watch this show in the early 90s really missed out on an excellent bit of comedy and drama. Doogie Howser was a child prodigy and surgeon at Eastman Medical Center in the show. He became a licensed doctor at 14, which is absolutely unheard of. The show followed his medical journey as well as his emotion journey for acceptance from his colleagues and kids his age. This was definitely one of the best shows of the early 90s.
Doctor Quinn, Medicine Woman
Another show from the 1990s was Doctor Quinn, Medicine Woman. Dr. Michaela Quinn practiced medicine in the small town of Colorado Springs. The show took place in the 1800s, so there was not much in the way of official squeaky clean hospitals, which is what made it unique. Dr. Quinn was not welcomed very well in the small town, since she was a female doctor, but she proved that her skill was beyond compare in each episode. Eventually, everyone called on "Dr. Mike" as she was nicknamed.
I Didn't Know I Was Pregnant
The worst part about this show is that the episodes are all true stories. The title tells it all: a woman winds up pregnant and does not recognize the signs, so when she goes into labor, she absolutely freaks out. The stories are incredible because you see these women going through very few symptoms of pregnancy, but since they do not suspect they are pregnant, they tend to chalk it up to something else. As a woman who is currently pregnant with her first child, I can say with certainty that I knew I was pregnant based on all typical signs, so I have a hard time watching this show and understanding these women. However, it is definitely fascinating, especially if you did not know of any other women who had been through something like this.
House, M.D.
The doctor we all love to hate, Dr. Gregory House, absolutely makes this list. The show is categorized as a medical drama, but it is easy to find humor in many scenes simply because Dr. House can be so outrageously ridiculous sometimes. He is a diagnostician with a team of interns who take on interesting and seemingly unsolvable cases of patients with strange symptoms. Dr. House and his team usually think they have the disease or problem figured out, but then a wrench is thrown into the game in the form of a seemingly random symptom unrelated to their diagnosis.
Scrubs
Dr. John Dorian, also known as JD, and his best friend Dr. Chris Turk, or simply Turk, are part of the best, most hilarious cast on television today. Scrubs is a medical comedy with a little drama thrown in. JD tends to daydream about the most hilarious situations, and his mentor-who-doesn't-want-to-be-his-mentor, Dr. Perry Cox, is absolutely brilliant and stuck up. The dynamic between these two is so much fun to watch.

Moive: The Three Stooges (2012)

Chris Diamantopoulos, Sean Hayes, and Will Sasso do an outstanding job imitating the most famous grouping of The Three Stooges (Moe Howard, Larry Fine, and Curly Howard, respectively). Their mannerisms, voices, and acting are sensationally accurate - even their physical features are surprisingly close. If this weren't a movie, they'd certainly make a striking Vegas show. But turning this into a theatrical release begs many questions - namely, "Why?" Who exactly is this supposed to appeal to? Will the 18-25 year-old demographic dash to see a black-and-white act from the '30s and '40s revived in 2012? Will longtime fans of The Three Stooges embrace a one-note homage that spans the course of a feature-length film (if they wanted to revisit the characters doing the same shtick, wouldn't they just watch the originals? Who will pay to see this?
Moe, Larry, and Curly are menaces as young children, but equally inseparable. In Episode 1: "More Orphan Than Not," they subject the nuns who raise them to all sorts of mischievous torment (most notably Sister Mary-Mengele, played by Larry David). Episode 2: "The Bananas Split" finds the pure-of-heart, dim-of-wit triumvirate all grown up and off into the real world where they desperately try to earn the $830,000 needed to save the orphanage from bankruptcy. In The Final Episode: "No Moe Mister Nice Guy," the knuckle-headed ternion get to the bottom of a plot to mercy-kill Lydia's (Sofia Vergara) husband Teddy (Kirby Heyborne), an old friend of the stooges.
An exemplary amount of research and rehearsing went into constructing this film. Their most famous routines are mimicked accurately, with triple-face-slapping, sledgehammers colliding with heads, saw blades going dull against Curly's crown, and every other form of incredibly brutal but bloodless violence to the body (it's so much, in fact, that directors Bobby and Peter Farrelly must orchestrate a PSA before the end credits to warn children not to copy what they see - somehow producers find this material comparable to the Jackass movies). The similarities continue into the trio bunking and snoring together, the sound effects of eye-poking, hair-pulling and chin-punching, snippets of the classic music (Three Blind Mice), the mismatched suits, overalls, and drag costumes, the wide-legged gait, and even borrowed verbal jokes from the original theatrical shorts. This exhaustive replication is ultimately just an uncreative copy, like Gus Van Sant's 1998 shot-for-shot remake of Psycho. The actors have changed, but to what end? Even films like My Week With Marilyn, J. Edgar, or A Dangerous Method, which had equally unremarkable substance, examined a side of their subjects that weren't completely familiar with audiences. This isn't even a straight documentary like The Lost Stooges (1990) or a conventional biopic like The Three Stooges (2000), but rather an oddly arranged redo of the real Stooges' skits.
The greatest flaw in the Farrelly's efforts is with the integration of the stooges into modern society. Transposing them to a world of sagging pants, iPhones, pop music, breast implants, and Jersey Shore is simply horrifying. Their surroundings were always more serious than their incomparable immaturity, but never grounded in the realities of the time. Their gags need a more fantasy-like environment to be effective (in just a single scene do they appropriately construct this setting, converting a golf course into a free-range fish farm). Smacking around the cast of a reality TV show appears astonishingly forced, fake, and ill-fitted. The actual comedy violence is occasionally funny, but the backgrounds, context, and supporting characters are meddlesomely incompatible.

Why Do Girls Like The Twilight Series So Much?

When Twilight came into your life, we are sure some of your lives were taken by a storm. No wonder, Twilight - the first book in the series was the talk of the town when it was published. Along the way, it has become a rage among teenage girls and every book in the Twilight series is cherished by all girls. But have you ever wondered why girls like this series so much? Well, we are here to tell you exactly that. So gather all your girl friends around and read on why girls like the Twilight series.

You know the star attraction of a novel is its protagonist. So if you have a dashing hero who happens to be a vampire, is totally handsome, has the perfect smile and in all is the 'perfect man', then there's no question of girls not falling head over heels for him. Yes, all this can happen even if Edward - the dashing vampire - is a totally fictional character. Girls can't help themselves but fall madly in love with this vampire. The prime attraction towards Edward is also due to the fact that girls won't get such a caring or perfect guy in their lives ever. He is charming, cute, irresistible, utterly caring and thus on every girl's wishlist!

Another best part about the Twilight series is the relationship between Edward and Bella - our vampire's lady love. The book shows that their relationship is so strong that it overcomes all obstacles and problems that comes its way. The problems range from fighting other bloodthirsty vampires to Edward trying to accept the fact that Bella is best friends with Jacob - a werewolf. Maintaining their relationship is no easy task. So, female readers want to know how do they overcome the obstacles in love and that's why the series is so popular.
Girls also like to imagine having the wonderful life that Bella has. Be it consciously or unconsciously, girls dream to have such a life. But as it's not practically possible, girls find solace in reading that imaginary, magical world that the Twilight series presents to them. Some girls also go to the extent of imagining themselves in Bella's position.
Some girls also find it insanely romantic and thus read it so often. They love the romance that this book exudes. Also, it has a story about forbidden love. This is an interesting topic by itself. Girls somehow are fascinated and thus more attracted towards such a kind of love.
These are some reasons why girls like the Twilight series.
The author writes on entertainment stuff like celebs, movies, etc. He has also written a few Twilight quizzes which fans might want to try out.

The Hottest Girls In The Marvel Universe

You may be a fan of comic books, and if you have been one for a while then you know that deep down you have already made up your mind on who the hottest superhero gals in comics are. One of the biggest comic book companies, Marvel has given the fans plenty of choices to pick from, so who are the hottest superhero gals in the Marvel Universe?

5- Storm
Storm is the mutant with the ability to control the weather. She has gone through many changes through the years, from the long white hair that you now know to the mohawk of the 80's. She is the second fileld leader of the X-Men second only to Cyclops and she has been in the minds of readers since the 1970's.
4- Sue Storm
The Invisible Woman of the Fantastic Four has long been considered one of the top women in comics. She is one half of the first couple in the Marvel Universe and one of the most desired female characters in comics. Only flaws are that her outfit is a bit conservative when compared to others in comics, and she is married to Reed Richards.

3- Ms. Marvel
Carol Danvers may not be the most famous characters in comics, but she is no doubt one of the hottest. Ms. Marvel has been one of the characters in the Marvel universe that has gone through the most changes, but that is not all that she has gone through. One of the most controversial comics in history had Ms. Marvel raped and impregnated.

2- Rogue
There is something about rogue that you cannot quite put your finger on, and that is Rogue herself. She is the mutant with the ability to take your energy, powers and even your life if you were to hold on for too long. She is still one of the hottest supersuperhero gals in comics and her southern accent and strong mind can only help her.
1- Emma Frost
The former White Queen of the Hellfire Club has changed her ways and has become one of the leaders of the X-Men next to Cyclops. She has always been way up there in the minds of comic book fans even as a villain. Now as a hero she is the number one on the list of the hottest superhero gals in Marvel.
Though the list is subjective it has been contributed to by several comic book fans.

Change Your Destiny With Local Modeling Jobs

Getting Started as a Local Model
Modeling is a great option for women and men of all ages, from kids up. There are many different types of job opportunities in local modeling, such as runway, catalog, glamour, promotional, commercial, as well as some for plus size and petite girls.
Any of these local modeling jobs can help build confidence in any person, as well as help their personality shine!
And, if you land employment with some of the better local talent agents, these jobs could possibly lead to bigger things - such as the international market where supermodels like Arizona Muse or Abbey Lee Kershaw resides.

Agency Requirements
Many jobs with the local model agencies have different types of requirements - not every type is the same. Some require you be the typically tall and skinny for the catwalk, but now some require you to just have a certain look and a great personality, or at least be a certain weight and height (such as for the petite, plus size models).
Local Model Scam
To get started you need to do some research, to make sure you do not fall part of a scam. There are a lot of scam fashion management companies out there who will just take your money and run.

How to Apply
When you find the right agent for you follow their instructions of getting started, which may be submitting your photos to them, through email or postal mail. It's very important to contact them in the way they have instructed on the model agency website. Do this wrong and your submission might just end up in the trash!
Your Stats
The local agency will want to know more about you, such as your name, your address, your age, and what it is that you are interested in - such as modeling jobs for kids, teenagers or adults (ex.: swimsuits, dresses, runway, commercial print photo shoots, etc.).
Some advice I can give to anyone wanting to get into local jobs for models is, if you don't succeed with one modeling agency, try someone else. And, when you are out there, doing what you do, be confident! Your chances of getting listed, and getting jobs, increases dramatically if you are 100% confident with your look, your posing movements and keep your head held high. Am I saying to be arrogant? Not at all!
How to Impress During Your Model Agency Interview
Go into the interview with a good attitude, be pleasant but professional in your behavior, talk to the talent manager just as if you are talking with a friend. In other words, be yourself. People like people with substance who can handle themselves in any situation. When you get jobs in the local modeling network, you might have to improvise and change in an instant - show the agency you can do it.

A Quick Word for Teenagers in Modeling
If you are a teen; especially under the age of 18 - Be sure one of your parents is involved with all your preparation, making contacts with local agents, etc. NEVER go to an open call or photographers model photo shoot alone! I can't stress this enough. Your career simply will not happen without the support of your parents.

Finding the Right Place for Your Business

Looking for new premises for your business can be quite difficult and confusing.
There can be many or few options and you've often got to think outside the box to achieve or get what you want.
This article is here to help. I hope you find it useful.

Dependent on your business type you'll need different things.
If you're selling an expensive service to a certain class you'll need to seriously think about your appearance.
Paying a higher price to be on the high street rather than outside of the city maybe well worth the investment.
Making sure you've got a good minimalist look is vital.
Don't forget that there are a lot of empty shops at the moment on high streets which have been vacant for ages so don't be afraid to haggle the monthly or annual price down because lets face it some income is better than no income for the owner of the building.

If you're a local skip hire company it's worth staying local when looking for new premises so make sure you don't tray too far away.
May sure you're still classed as the local skip hire company.
All though you can still get business if you go further a field if you have good business where you are and you don't have any other skip hire competition make sure you stay close.
In addition to this if you need to store skip hire bins make sure you've got a big enough depot to accommodate.
Don't make scarifies as if your offices ad away from the depot because you couldn't find anything good enough you'll only end up with extra administration and cost problems.

If you're a small company just starting up why not think about sharing office space with another company.
If you're a beauty specialist why not look at renting out space at a salon or boutique.
Not only is it good advertising but you get plenty of people walking through the door you just then need to convert them which is far better than trying to get people through the door in the first place.

Don't forget it's all about image. You want to make sure that people feel like they can trust you.
If you don't tell with customers face to face often you can save money from having your offices in less appealing places but you may need to consider the safety of the office when doing this.
Make sure that you shop around for different prices and offices so that you choose the perfect option for your needs.

Fun Ways To Spice Up Your Next Corporate Event

Company meetings have earned a notorious reputation for being boring and largely forgettable.
The reason is simple: few are willing to think outside the box and take the kind of bold steps that are necessary to really make an impression and let employees have fun.
Take your next outing to the next level with one of these creative and cost-effective ideas.

Sumo Suits

Encourage a little bit of friendly competition by involving pairs of co-workers in a friendly game of synthetic sumo.
You can easily rent giant padded sumo suits, designed to be worn over virtually any clothing.
Completely protected, your employees can then bounce around an arena until one is declared the winner.

Inflatable Jousting
This more competitive alternative to sumo suits offers you the opportunity to tap into your customer's competitive side.
With these, you'll be fighting to actually unseat each other, and there's a much more defined win/loss structure than in something like sumo.
Inflatable jousting can be a lot of fun, and like the suits it is completely safe because everything is padded and filled with air.

Unconventional Team Building
Traditional "team building" games and trust exercises have historically shown little ability to perform either function.
Instead of relying on those, try something that will get your team working and thinking together without presenting the traditional kind of problems.
One very good option is to have your employees solve an everyday problem that might confront your company, but mix together people from different departments or teams.
Working with new people will provide fresh perspectives and encourage unity across the different sectors of your business.

Avoid Lectures - Use Demonstrations
Nothing is quite as boring as having someone talk at you with relatively little opportunity to interact.
If you want your employees to learn about something new, present it in a way that lets them really get into it.
The best way to manage that is by making something funny or something that really gets into their brain and makes them think.
Demonstrations are great because they can combine these two elements alongside an opportunity to experience something hands-on.
If your workers can try whatever it is they just learned and be guided by an expert, they're much more likely to remember it later on.

Make Sure To Build In Time For Fun
Even if the inflatable jousting described above seems like too much of a stretch for your next event, make sure it isn't all business.
You want your team to come together as a team - that means they have to see each other as more than just people who do business together.
They need to rely on each other, enjoy laughing with each other, and care about each other's success.
That kind of caring grows more slowly when you're working on something that is strictly business related.

We Interrupt the Broadcast - End of the World Delayed With 30,000 Years Added to Mayan Calendar

Did you see the Google April Fool's joke for 2012, it was one done in conjunction with NASCAR, where they were going to supposedly enter a robot Google race car to compete. NASCAR had this on their website and so did Google, and it looked like a genuine news release, ha ha ha, jokes on us right?
Actually, the jokes on me, as I wrote a piece on April 6, 2010 on the same topic, the article was titled;

"Will Robotic Race Trucks Take Over Pike's Peak, NASCAR, and Formula One - One Day?"
Anyway, I am glad to see "the world is listening," and that makes me happy to contribute.

Now then, for this year's April Fools and realize once again I am a little late on this.
Okay so, I say better late than never.
You see, I was going to write this article for April Fools Day 2012 but it was on my list of things to do pile?
Sorry about that, but here it goes anyway, but first a word from our sponsor.
You see, there was an interesting article in the February 2012 issue of Popular Mechanics titled;
"That's All Folks," By Jeff Wise.

In this article they talk about all the potential calamities which could end the world.
They told us not to worry about the Mayan calendar, but rather to consider such things as; "an asteroid impact, global pandemic, a takeover by the machines, a Gamma Ray burst, an Ice Age, ocean acidification, solar storm, Super Volcano, a geomagnetic reversal, a nuclear war, or an artificial black hole."

Okay so, probably none of those things are going to happen this year or anytime soon.
In fact, if this were not an April fools joke and as per the titled of this article 30,000 years really were added to the Mayan calendar, who would know the difference anyway?
Do you see my point?>
Realize also, that every single person that has predicted the end of the world so far, well, they've all been wrong haven't they?

Therefore, maybe you should save for a rainy day, and not pretend that you are going to win the lottery to solve your retirement nest egg challenges in your personal saving's space.
Now then, I am most certain that very soon robotic racing cars will be challenging humans to see which is the best.
Just as IBM's Watson beat the best human Jeopardy players, and just as IBM's artificial intelligent computer became the chess champion, I would submit to you that the days of human race car operators taking the podium are numbered.

Therefore, it hardly matters if NASCAR and Google were only kidding us this time around, because in the future that will be the reality, and although it may not be this year, it certainly could have been, and in the future I'm sure we all know that such a reality is just down the track.
Indeed I hope you will please consider all this and think on it.

Lance Winslow is a failed comedian.

Experience A New Way Of Entertainment When You Rent Audio Books

This is a generation of advanced technology.
A generation where everything is digital and can be obtained online.
Gone are the days when people had to do everything manually.
Now even studying and reading books can be done online or by utilizing CD or other types of player.

What has changed?
Why do people opt to rent audio titles instead of personally reading the actual book?

There are a bunch of reasons why people rent audio titles.
For one, reading has become a form of entertainment because of the advent of MP3 players, tablets, and smart phones.
A long commute every day to and from the office is the perfect time for most people to listen to their favorite book.
These days, listening to a book makes more sense than sitting down and reading it.

More and more people are getting hooked to audio novels probably because most city dwellers live a fast paced life.
Those who cannot find time in their busy schedules to read, welcome the idea of being able to rent audio novel.
They can listen to it while cooking, doing the dishes, and gardening, etc.

Audio novels are perfect for just about anyone who enjoys a good book but is so pressed for time.
Aside from giving you the chance to read anywhere you want, it is also an opportunity to take down notes because you have the pause and play options.
It is like listening to a story, but you can feel the emotion by listening to different voices that play the different characters in your story.
It is also like watching a good television show, only this time you get to listen to it and you get to control the speed of reading.

Though you can buy an audio book, most people prefer to rent audio novels from online shops and membership sites.
Buying or renting audio titles is similar to buying a paperback book, only this time the books are on CDs.
You will be surprised at how vast the list of titles is at these sites.

All you need to do is simply sign up to become a member and choose from their long list of titles and wait for your audio book in the mail.
Once you are done, you can return the audio book through a pre-paid envelope, and there is no need to pay anything.
Upon receiving the returned book, the site would send you the next book on your list.

It saves a lot of money since you do not need to keep on purchasing books that you have no use once you are done reading them.
You also do not have to worry about incurring a late fee as these sites do not have a set deal time.

If you enjoy reading a good book before going to bed but cannot find the time, your best option is to rent audio books.
Finding a site that offers a good deal is not hard to do, just do a little research and you are good to go.

Sign up with an audio book club and rent audio books now.

Casting Calls - A Tool To Stardom

Casting calls, or what is the pre-production process for selecting a cast, is a crucial part of the movie making industry.
Finding a casting call that is right for you is an easy and sometimes fun experience that all who are looking to edge their way into the industry need to have.
The easiest way to get an open audition is to research online for the area you are located in, and to check for any available ads.
Hundreds of websites have open auditions available around the clock in every hemisphere of the globe.
The internet provides a wonderful and easy way of getting the ideal first audition, and eventually a break into hit movies and maybe even Hollywood.
The casting openings found on regular audition sites have room for all ages, whether you are a five year old looking to make your way onto a children's commercial for cereal or a forty year old that is looking to make your way onto a B rated film.

Most of these regular audition websites will have application forms that will help you get your way onto the set.
However, they are usually small roles that are not yet for sell-out movies. Most auditions are for commercials or behind-the-scenes roles for new upcoming movies.

Other sites such as MTV and NBC will get you on television productions such as Bad Girls Club or Lingo.
These auditions are usually only held a few times a year, and are usually set in certain places in the United States. For instance, there could be only two auditions for a certain television show, and they could only in Massachusetts and Vermont.

Find your way to stardom by simply using your surf engine to search for the open call near you, and attend the auditions.
You must never allow your talent to be wasted, when you could easily use it to start a career.

Step by Step Guide to Hiring a Venue for Your Event or Party

Finding a space to hire for your party or corporate event can bring on some anxious moments.
Event planners do this for a living, so to make things easier, here are the steps the ones who do this for a living use.
Follow this path and the process will be stress-free and actually enjoyable.

Step One: Requirements List
Get a notebook and start writing down any and all things you think you'll need or want for your party or gathering.
From number of guests, to space requirements, to food ideas, to entertainment, write it down. Once complete, prioritize the list.
Any approach will do - add stars or underline key requirements - but make sure you know what items you consider absolutely necessary.
This list is key when evaluating location options.

Step Two: Evaluate Venue Options
Whether online or looking in the phone directory, start scouting locations.
Make a list of potential venues and either email or call, being sure to layout your requirements.
Some spaces, like conference centers and hotels can accommodate just about every logistical need, but may not fit with the tone or mood you're trying to set.
This is where your priorities list is important.
From the information you receive, draw up a short list of potential sites.

Step Three: Onsite Visit
It is imperative you visit the site personally.
It is also a good idea to bring along a friend, relative or colleague (as appropriate) to act as another set of eyes and ears.
Be sure to visit when you can meet with the personnel responsible for the space.
You should be in evaluation mode from the moment you make your way to the venue.
Is it easy to find? How is parking or access to public transportation? Is the area safe? How does the actual venue look?

During your tour and discussion, be sure to have your notebook with you to make sure the space can accommodate your needs.
Inquire if the venue has hosted similar events in the past and ask for a description of how things were laid out.
Step Four: Estimate and Budget
Depending on the type of venue, discuss what capabilities the site has.
Some unique sites like museums or lofts have great space, but sometimes all amenities and supplies need to be coordinated and brought in.
Others do it all which can make things much easier and can result in better package deal pricing.
Ask for the estimate in writing and be sure it includes specific services.
And don't be coy about letting them know your budget. While most venues do have set pricing, there is often leeway available.
Step Five: Book and Confirm
Once you've decided on the location, book the date and get a written confirmation.
At this point it is better to over communicate a bit, so even after you receive something in writing, call or email to double check it is in the calendar.
Also set a reminder to call the venue a week or so before your event to confirm that things are on track.

Step Six: Final Touches
At this point you can move on to any other items on the list.
If you decide to add an activity or change the layout, be sure to fully communicate this with the venue to be sure they can accommodate things.
This will avoid any last minute surprises the week before or day of the event.

Of course the final step is to enjoy the event and the results of your hard work and effort.

Learn From the Pros: Choosing a Venue for Your Event

Using a venue to host your celebration party or corporate gathering can make the event even more memorable.
But choosing a location can be a lot of work if you don't know how to go about the process.
Here's a step-by-step guide to make things easier and help ensure you choose the right setting.

Find someone to help.
Depending on the situation, this can be a colleague, friend or family member.
This will give you someone to bounce ideas off of and help you evaluate options.

Develop a list of requirements. Get a pad or notebook and start jotting down ideas.
At this point get down any and all ideas or special requirements.
This will become your guide as you move through the process and ensure you don't forget any important details.

Prioritize your list.
Review your ideas and prioritize.
While finding the absolute perfect venue is possible, you'll likely have to make some compromises.
Prioritizing things ensures you don't lose sight of anything of critical importance.

Develop a short list of venue options.
Most venues and party locations can be found online or through the phone directory.
Online has the advantage of being able to see if the site matches your requirements before having to contact the locale. In either case, keep your requirement list handy as you evaluate options.

Schedule an in-person visit.
From your short list, determine which sites you'd like to visit.
This is where your helpmate is invaluable as an extra set of eyes.
Schedule your visit when you can also speak with a representative.
From the moment you start your journey to the venue, keep notes on location, ease of access, area safety and overall look and feel of the location.
These are important details to review before making the final choice.

Get a written estimate.
After your visits, you may find one or more suitable locales.
In either case, be sure to get a full written estimate.
This should be complete with all options and services.
If something is missing or unclear be sure to follow-up.
If something isn't in the estimate (or contract) don't assume it will be included.
Don't be afraid to negotiate if the cost is beyond your budget.
Most venues do have some leeway in pricing. Also inquire about deposit and cancellation costs.

Book the venue and confirm.
Once you've decided, don't wait to book a date. Be sure to get a written confirmation, and even then, it is worth a follow-up call or email to double check.
Also, make a note to re-confirm about a week out from the date just to check that things are all okay.
Unfortunately things can happen (going out of business, fire or flood, double booked) that could lead to a last minute change.
Better to know this earlier rather than the day of the event.

Review the rest of your list.
Start working on finalizing any other items like coordinating entertainment or outside equipment that needs to be brought in.
If you add something significant, be sure to check back with the venue to make sure they can accommodate.
Again, you don't want any surprises the day of the party or event.

The rest is easy. Enjoy the event.

There are international and local model jobs for teens available if you have the right look and/or personality.
Talk to your mom or dad, get them to help you put together a plan of action, and shoot for a career in modeling!

Have a Good Time

If you're having fun, and working in fashion, commercial, or even promotional modeling jobs is truly what you want to do with your life, then that is all that matters.
Prepare yourself and enjoy yourself.
Sometimes other people will try to put you down (tell you to get a "real" job) but they can't keep you down - not unless you let them.
